Bridal Shower

Ok, so I know we're running behind on all of this stuff. My mom has been swamped with Christmas and school, but we are still planning on a small get together. The plan is for January 2nd at the clubhouse in my complex (620 Canterbury Lane North Salt Lake, Utah 84054) we're going to meet at 11:30 and lunch will be provided. Melanie, my mom is going to call you...she says soooo sorry for her delay...thanks for your help :) The official invites are coming, but wanted to give people a heads up.

Happy Birthday Daddy!!

So Friday was my dad's 57th birthday...I mean he's 40...yah...that's it...he had me when he was 10 :) We had cake and candles...

I was holding the candles, but in the order of 75 and my mom looked at me all confused and said "why did you buy 75? That's no the right age!" Ummm...yah...don't worry I quickly rotated my hand and showed her that the 75 magically becomes a 57...I'm pretty sneaky that way. (Love you mommy!!)

We had the Petersen Christmas party in the morning and then we went to Texas Roadhouse in Logan for his "Birthday Dinner". It was a BLAST! We even talked them into letting him sit on the saddle :)

They asked him his name and he said "Norman" so when they first started the song they said it was Norman's birthday...ROFL!

Happy Birthday Dad! We love you!!!

25 errr it's almost midnight so 24 days and counting

So I've been pretty good to not post about cheesy wedding stuff (I don't want to bore you) I've done the whole bridal picture thing now..glad that's done. My old boss actually called me a couple of weeks ago to make sure that I was getting them because well...I'm cheap and he knew I'm not against cutting corners for the wedding. I get to see them on Saturday and I'll either post a link to them or scan some in (shhh...don't tell) and post them for you to see. Norman has access to the blog, but he NEVER checks it so I could actually post dirt on him and he'd have no clue (as long as no one tells him :) I'm still in shock that I'm even getting married so this whole thing is like a blur to be quite honest. Just in case you haven't heard the big day is January 9th. We're getting married in the Bountiful Temple and then the reception will be that night from 6-7:30 (kinda short, but we're old so we don't expect a huge turn out) in North Salt Lake in the church by the Foxboro South entrance. (875 W. Foxboro Drive) We'll get on the ball and get the official announcements sent out. Let's see...I think that's all for now. I guess I should get to bed :)

Thanksgiving in December

Ok, so we did celebrate Thanksgiving in November just like everyone else, but I have been soooo tired from all of the turkey that I haven't had the energy to post yet...yah...that's it...silly tryptophan....teach me to eat turkey :O)

Thanksgiving was GREAT! We went to my parents house and had Becky, Debbie and their families drive up as well as Carl and Lorna and Scott and Cristy come over. Grandma and Grandpa Petersen came and partied with us too.

Oh...before I forget Audrey (the adopted grandchild) came down with a special Thanksgiving card that she had colored for my dad.

She made sure it said "To Russy" ROFL!!! That's right she calls him Russy and it's the cutest stinkin' thing EVER!!

We had LOTS of food!!

I had my honey with me :)

Amy did have a little issue with the ranch dressing (the plastic lid was still on and she couldn't figure out why her carrot wouldn't go in)...I told her it's because she's a farmer...not a rancher....ba dum ching!

My mom had to use some creativity in getting everything back in the fridge....I love the milk on it's side :)

Thanks to everyone for coming over and making Thanksgiving so great!!

Busy Busy Busy (again)

So I've been slacking on the blogging I know. I have pictures from Thanksgiving (which was fabulous by the way) but I have yet to download them to my computer so I don't have them readily available. This weekend was our system upgrade at work. I worked all night on Friday and this was after I'd stayed up way too late on Thursday finishing my bridal cape (yay finally done!!) and then ran to Tremonton where I got my bridal pictures taken. I wasn't sure if I should even have them done for a while there, but I'm only planning on getting married once so I should do these things. It was a lot of fun though and hopefully they turn out nice. Once I get them back I'll scan some in (oh...have to wait til after the wedding, but yah...I'll post them)

Ok, so now for the sad part of the weekend...which is why I'm not in the mood to post my Thanksgiving pics at the moment. Jami's guinnea pig Sarah died last night. My parents tried to save her and they were giving her antibiotics, but she had blood coming from her urine and stool and just didn't make it. This is really dumb because it's just a guinnea pig, but it's hard because it was Jami's pet and she LOVED her! Albert, her other guinnea, has been crying all day for her. I actually bought Albert for her for her birthday a few years ago. We were teasing that we were going to buy her a rat so she was soooo happy when it was a guinnea pig and not a rat. Luckily, Sarah is with Jami again which is good because she hasn't gotten to hold her for almost 2 years, but it's still hard. Our neighbors brought by a poem that I'd never heard before and had to share...

My First Christmas in Heaven

I see the countless
Christmas trees
around the world below
With tiny lights, like Heaven's stars,
reflecting on the snow

The sight is so spectacular,
please wipe away the tear
For I am spending Christmas with
Jesus Christ this year.

I hear the many Christmas songs
that people hold so dear
But the sounds of music can't compare
with the Christmas choir up here.

I have no words to tell you,
the joy their voices bring,
For it is beyond description,
to hear the angels sing.

I know how much you miss me,
I see the pain inside your heart.
But I am not so far away,
We really aren't apart.

So be happy for me, dear ones,
You know I hold you dear.
And be glad I'm spending Christmas
with Jesus Christ this year.

I sent you each a special gift,
from my heavenly home above.
I sent you each a memory
of my undying love.

After all, love is a gift more precious
than pure gold.
was always most important
the stories Jesus told.

Please love and keep each other,
my Father said to do.
I can't count the blessing or love
has for each of you.

So have a Merry Christmas and
Wipe away that tear
Remember, I am spending Christmas with
Jesus Christ this year

Love you squeaky!!
