Another Ostomy!!

Before I forget, I need to post the pictures of my dad in his new birthday suit!!
Wooo Woooo!!

My poor dad has had issues with his eyes weeping. He has just kinda let it go, but it finally became time to have it looked at. He went to the specialist and they said it's his tear ducts and they needed to do a blah blah blah ostomy. I can't remember the technical term, but I do know it ends in ostomoy. We have been teasing him and asking him if there's anywhere else he can have an ostomy now too. He had Surgery on Jan 19th and it went well. He looks like he got in a fight, but before the rumors start, my mom doesn't beat my dad. The black eye is from his surgery.

New Car!!!

Norman and I really were destined to be together. For several years before I met Norman I drove a Buick and I would get soooo much guff about how it was a grandma car and that I'd never meet a man with such a car. I would politely respond that I didn't want a man who only wanted me for my car, and it's a nice ride. Norman got the same amount of guff from his friends and family about his car. He was told he should be driving a Mustang or a big truck if he wanted a woman. I'd already gotten rid of the Buick and had my Murano when we met (which he didn't see or ride in for several weeks after we started dating) but I was actually cool with his car. To me, it said "economical." Plus, there was this button on the ceiling and whenever we'd get in the car he'd start the car, push this red button which would then turn green and then he'd put the car in gear and we'd go. I had NO clue what the button did, but I figured it was some manly something or another that really pimped his car out and he was like me and would rather drive older and pimped out than newer and stripped down. Imagine my shock when I finally asked him what that button did and he said "I have no clue, but when I push it, it turns green again" LOL!!!! I actually think we were engaged before I asked. That whole time I thought he had a pimped out car with a cool button and essentially all it did was change colors...wow...I'm entertained easily! Well people...the button died...yes...it took a lot of effort to make the button change from red to green.

You ask...so what?!?!? It was just a useless button
My response...that button was awesome! Time for a new car.

Ok, actually Norman's car is up for registration and we've been debating if we should fix it or just get a new car. I will say when he said "and the button isn't working as well anymore" that was the icing on the cake for me.

I've been tired because well, I have a parasite in me and then with January 01 new Medicare regulations I've been working long days and lots of weekends (Wretched Medicare changes!!!). Norman started looking without me because I was all for a new car, but he needed time to digest and think about spending that kind of money. He'd pretty much narrowed it down to a few cars that he liked when I finally went with him to look. It was a BLAST to look at cars with him!! We ended up at a Kia dealership and they were showing us a bunch of different options. The guy was nice and we were pretty sure we wanted the new Optima, but he was willing to show us other cars to make sure. The manager guy even came down and said we should check out this totally loaded used Amanti they had. Ok people, I'm sorry if you drive one, but I'm about to bash your car. It seriously looked like a drug lord car. It could have just been this one, but it was big and all dark and had like the Mercedes wanna be and low riding. I told the guy I was way to nerdy to be driving something like that and when someone asked me what I was dealing I might freak out.

It cracks me up how much fun Norman and I have shopping for things. It was such a fun day. We knew we wouldn't get much for his car but we were joking that we could show them all of the cool features and that would surely up the value. We ended up setting off his car alarm at least 3 times. The first time I set it off because I was talking to a friend as we pulled in. Norman went to find the sales guy and I told him I'd just chill and catch up to him. Well, he locked me in. I went to get out and the sales guy was like "huh, wonder who's alarm that is" Norman's eyes lit up and he was all "That's my wife! Whoops!" I told them I just like to make an entrance. Then the sales guy had to get the mileage off of the car, but you see, Normans old car thought it locked itself, but you still had to manually push the button down. We gave the sales guy the key, but he's all "oh...it's unlocked". Well....kinda...but not really. He lifted the handle and bam! Off went the alarm again. Probably one of those "had to be there" moments, but it was so funny to us.

Here's Norman's old car.
Oh the button!!!
New Car!!!
