The Honeymoon!

Cancun was GREAT!!! I totally want to go back.

We stayed at the Hilton (which was a beautiful hotel thank goodness!!!) Everyone kept teasing us that we'd spend the whole trip in the room, but we didn't...check this out!!!!

We found the ice machine



Next we went to the Elevator.



At first I was scared...


Then Norman calmed me down



LOL! Actually I was just talking in the first picture, but I look petrified for some reason...

Next we climbed some ruins


We found some ancient artifacts


I explored the jungle


We enjoyed some local culture



Then we discovered that they have room service...end of the pictures :)






HAHA!!!! NOT!!! We did get out of our room AND out of the hotel and we had a BLAST!!

The first night we went to a pirate ship adventure. We hopped on our ship and sailed out into the bay.


They had a bunch of entertainment and free drinks for all...luckily they had some amazing virgin pina coladas and virgin strawberry daiquiri's...yummy!!! It was "cold" (all of 70 degrees) so most people stayed lower on the ship. we got to sit at the top and cuddle and relax without people around...loved that part!



The ships fought and ours won (of course!) It was a lot of fun!




The first excursion we did was to Coba. We started by swimming in a cenote which is an underground pool. The water is freshwater and it is crystal clear. There were stalactites hanging from the ceiling and you could see clear to the bottom which was like 15 feet down. Then we went repelling. I was nervous at first because I'm petrified of heights, but Norman climbs towers all day so it was no big deal to him. I didn't want to disappoint my new husband so I went for it and it was a BLAST!! Wow! I'd totally repel again. This is what we repelled off of.

This is where the zipline went. The pictures were $40 so we didn't buy the ones of us actually in the act, but picture me looking all sorts of cool flying down this zip line (I should photoshop me in)


We got to eat at a Mayan village and they had the BEST food!!! They had tortillas, chicken, rice, beans, vegetable soup, empanadas and then pasta because what mexican meal is complete without pasta :)

Next we were off to Coba. You can still climb Coba which is not built according to code. The steps are all sorts of different heights and they go straight up. I was scared to death and way out of shape as I was attempting to not look like a complete idiot in front of my new husband still. He said to pretend like I was climbing and it was hard and I was tired. I'm such a great actress!! Check out the sweat and fear on my face...not everyone could pull that look off!


I told Norman to do the same thing, but alas, he is not as good of an actor as me. Notice how he is lacking the sweat and looks all happy to be climbing...



Yah...this is what I thought of that...


I did love the view from the top though. It was so peaceful and pretty up there!


One of my favorite things on the trip was our mexican limo ride. The ruins are over lots of land and they have paths that take you from one to the next. You can walk them, but we were on a time constraint, so we paid a whole $10 to have a guide take us and pedal us through the ruins.


We did find our first home :) It is all about location after all :D


The next day we just relaxed at the pool and chilled at the beach. Check out this sign...


I'm very glad that I wasn't under the influence of hypnosis...it would have been terrible to not have been able to swim in the pool. Just as a side note my honey can swim! He used to be a lifeguard and yah...I quite enjoyed watching him swim...very nice :)

That night we went to JC Capitan for dinner. It's a seafood place right out on a pier. Because it was soooo cold there (yup...still in the 70's) no one wanted to sit on the dock, everyone was inside. We got to eat dinner outside and watch the sunset and just talk with no one else around.



The next trip we went on was to Chichen Itza. That morning we got on the bus where they served us pastries and I chipped the bonding on my front tooth. Of all the things to break my tooth on...a pastry...now really people...sheesh!!

We went to a Cenote that day also, but this one was more commercialized. It's pretty and it was neat looking, but not as neat as the first one.






The ruins were awesome!!!


There was some light rain that day, but it wasn't cold so it was very enjoyable!! It was a great trip!! I think the company I was with made it that much better. I Love this whole being married thing :D

Wedding Day Fun

Well...it finally happened...don't know if pigs were flying, maybe it's a lot colder in hell, but yup...I'm hitched!! WOOOHOOOO!!!

What a great day!!! Norman was worried that I wasn't going to make it so when I was only there 5 minutes early (rather than the 20 minutes early he was) he worried I'd stood him up. He forgets that I'm a girl and that it just takes longer for these things. We were sealed and all went as planned, then we went outside in the freezing cold for some pictures. Here we are first leaving the temple...



I had some great friends come too!!! So glad to see you Jaclyn and Halee!!

His aunt Karen made the cake for us which turned out beautiful!!


The luncheon and reception went great thanks to a lot of helpers! Thank you to EVERYONE for coming and helping and being supportive.

I even got to spend some time with my Holly!!!


The car looked GREAT!!! It was like a giant pinata of balloons!!

What a fortune

I'll get to the bridal shower later (it was a BLAST though). Last night Norman and I went to Pei-Wei and his fortune cookie was the following...



Yah...considering we're getting married on Saturday we thought it was HILARIOUS!!!

This week has gone to the dogs...

Ok, so this has been a hard week. Trish and Wendy left on vacation and I agreed to babysit their two poodles Sugar and Spice. They were scared (of course) and Sugar had actually tried to dig under the fence on Saturday, but the ground was frozen so she didn't get far before I found out what she was up to. Norman has the pager for a couple of weeks so on Sunday morning he'd been called in to work. I'd gone to church (see...I can be a good girl) and Norman headed to my house to relax and take a nap while he waited for me to get home. Well...when he walked in he got bombarded by dogs (my two dogs LOVE him) and Spice made a run for it. He chased her through the complex and sent me a text that he needed help catching her. I headed home, but my church is at the university which is 30 min away. He even got in his car and followed her, but every time he'd get close to her she'd run...ok...let me clarify...he wasn't trying to hit her with his car...she could just run a lot faster and whenever he'd get out and call for her she'd run even faster. I finally got home and by this point she'd ran into the trail area and for some reason Norman didn't take his car off-roading through the swamp/trail area and she was gone. We searched and searched and couldn't find anything. I of course call Trish and Wendy upset and tell them of our predicament. We kept looking, but yah...no luck. At dusk we decided to take one more car ride through the complex to see if we could see anything. I'm sure the neighbors thought I was crazy because I'd driven through there sooooo many times yelling "Spice....Spice..." out of my window. Suddenly, a poodle ran across the road. We were soooo happy!!! I jumped out of the car (Norman stayed in because he didn't want to scare her) and started calling for Spice. The dog came over and I lectured her for running away and took her to the car. Once in the car we realized she had no collar. I started to look close and realized that she was darker than I remembered also. We thought maybe she'd gotten into something so we took her home only to find out that we'd just found someone else's poodle. What are the chances of finding another lost poodle with out a docked tail running through the same area where we lost ours....oh man!! So, I was back to four dogs and yet still not too thrilled. I did end up finding the owner to the other dog (her name was Bella and she lived in Foxboro) and I decided to get Sugar groomed. So...I forgot that poodles are so fru-fru when groomed up. Yup...I girlified Trish and Wendy's dog...ROFL!!!


Please note that she has purple bows in her hair and everything. Whoops! She LOVED it though. She pranced around the house for the rest of the week showing me how beautiful she was.
