Head Shoulders Knee's and Toes (oh..and fingers!!)

So Tuesday morning we went for our first ultrasound. I was PETRIFIED!!!! We hadn't heard the heartbeat yet and I was freaked out! The doctor promised us that we were pregnant and there weren't any signs that things were wrong, but still...it's been scary. On Tuesday we went for our genetic screening (well, the first set of labs) and it also includes an ultrasound. I kept having nightmares about them trying to find the baby and either I wasn't pregnant or the baby had just quit developing. Well...they did the ultrasound and it was AMAZING!! I figured it would look like a tadpole thing if there was anything there. Once she pulled up the picture I couldn't quit smiling. The baby was so wiggley and looks soooo cute! There was a little nose and the cutest little fingers! WOW! I didn't expect it to look so much like a baby. The pictures aren't as cool as it looked on the TV moving around, but of course I'm a proud mommy so here ya go :)

It's little hand is up by it's face in the bottom picture. We couldn't get the measurement to check for downs syndrome, but the tech said that it looked normal, but that we have a stubborn baby and it wouldn't go into the exact position she needed. It would almost get there and then roll. Oh, she also said that my uterus is tipped way back and that's the reason we couldn't hear the heartbeat yet. The heartbeat was 158 which is very healthy and strong. Norman was giggling the whole time. It was GREAT!!!!
