7 months and growing

I can't believe how quick things change. Megan is sitting up like a champ now! It feels like only yesterday she was still in me and causing me all sorts of grief (Yes, I still remember the wretchedness called pregnancy). Now that I know the end result it's totally worth it, but yah, I'm not a happy pregnant person.

Here's my cutie sitting

She even sits up in her bouncer....she hardly ever lays down in it anymore

She now even loves to take a bath in the sink

It amazes me how much I love being a mommy! She's the best baby ever!!!

Smurfs

So the other day Trish and Keelee came over and Trish was teasing me about the mushrooms growing on our front lawn. I told her they were special Smurf mushrooms. She didn't believe me...can you believe she didn't believe me?!?! To make my point I have taken pictures...what do you think?

See...I can picture the smurfs living here :)

Who's that baby?

My mom found pictures of her at 6 months old. I had to do a similar shot of Megan...can you tell who is who?

LOL! I guess the color gives it away, but I still thought it was cute :)

Bouncing Baby Girl...well...kinda

Because Megan is growing up so fast and stuff she's ready for a jumper. I have been told that I LOVED my jumper as a kid so I have been very excited to get one for Megan. The day came on Friday and on Saturday Norman kindly put it together for us. I could hardly wait to see the excitement on Megan's face as she would now be able to jump!! He put it up and I put her in it. It was such a head scratching moment. You see...her head barely stuck out the top...LOL! I looked at the picture and realized he'd put it together wrong. I dunno...this other way looked pretty fun though...

I LOVE the look she's giving me like "mom...really?!?!"

Not spoiled

Yesterday Norman and I went up to my parent's house to help finish some wiring. Megan has this new fascination with the remote control and cell phones. If I bring them around her I'd better be ready to share...not fun! She was playing with my parents and wanted their remote control. My mom realized she had a brand new remote that they certainly would never need. She gave it to Megan and Megan was sooo happy to press the buttons! The problem was it was linked to the TV and she turned their TV off for them, so my mom pulled the batteries. She handed it back to Megan and Megan began to cry. I mean...hello?!?! It no longer worked. Today we gave the remote to her and she was much happier. Thanks Grandpa and Grandma!

Happy 4th of July!!!

What a FUN 4th of July!! There is an amazing neighborhood breakfast that is a 32 year tradition now. It was only a couple of blocks away so we decided to walk...holy steep hill batman!!! I knew I was out of shape, but wow!! Norman pushed the stroller and I just did good to make it up the hill, but I made it! I had found this cute outfit at TJ Maxx with my mom a couple weeks ago. I thought it was fun, but had no idea how popular Megan would be. We showed up at the party with this little cutie and were very popular :)
The hostess of the party told us that we can't eat and hold a baby so she took Megan and greeted everyone. We didn't know who she was at first, but she looked nice enough and I had kinda wondered if we were at her house. It's been fun meeting all the new people in this area.

Later that day we had family over for a BBQ and it was a BLAST!!! One of Caleb's friends from school came over and brought his bagpipes which was great entertainment for everyone. Only Julie (cousin Julie...not me) was dancing at first so I started to dance with her so that more of the kids would dance too. It was fun! I had a second reminder of how out of shape I was though.

Julie was showing me how to dance and I was imitating her. She decided it would be fun to do a somersault and I should do one too....here we go...

I'm getting old and I actually ended up rolling to the side more than just over, but yah...I tried...

Open House

So Jeff and Heidi's relationship has been a whirlwind...no...more of a tornado...very very FAST!!! They were going to get married here, then there, then in September and suddenly in May, there was going to be a reception and then not, then suddenly there was an open house. Oye! We love Heidi and Jeff and are so glad they are married, but they moved fast! Anyways, so we did end up doing a little last minute open house for them in Elwood. We didn't do much as far as decorations, but I had a GRAND idea to use helium balloons. It ended up being more expensive and time consuming than I thought it would be...whoops!! We did end up doing a balloon arch. My mom had looked online and she found a video where they had some music playing and they put an arch together in 6 minutes. We were just positive if they could do it in 6 minutes that we could do it in 4 or 5...LOL!!! NOT!!! Anyways, it took us a little longer than 6 minutes, but we did get it put together.

My mom did make a cake. When we were in Mesquite things were crazy and we didn't have them cut the cake. This time we wanted a cake for them to cut so we could have pictures. It looked sooo tasty even my mom could hardly contain herself!
They cut the cake.

Then it was quite the event to get them to feed it to each other, but after I showed them how they did it.

Then they even fed Trish some.

Megan's Baby Blessing

I still can't believe I have a baby! On Sunday it was Megan's baby blessing. It was such a special day and it was great to see everyone. It was such a great experience because not only was she being blessed, but she was wearing the same dress that both Jami and I had wore when we were blessed. I love that we were able to do that!

The special baby!

I don't have a picture of me in the dress as a baby, but I do have one of Jami :)

All Smiles!

Today has been a great day!! Megan is feeling better and today we went to lunch with two of my coworkers. It was so nice to get out and great to catch up with people! Megan was awake for a little bit at first. That had me nervous because she used to cry if she was awake for very long and she never just fell asleep. Today she was awake and then she just fell asleep on her own...YAY!!!!!!! We got home and I changed her diaper and then she was so happy and smiley. I had to share!!

I just love my baby girl!!!!

Mesquite

This weekend was our first vacation with Megan. Jeff married Heidi in Mesquite and we went down to be with them. It went much better with Megan than I thought it was going to. She's such a great baby! She slept until Cedar City and then we woke her up. Then on the way home we made it to Nephi and then we woke her up. When we'd pull her out of her car seat she'd stretch and stretch...it was soooo cute!!

We stopped in St. George on the way down and visited my friend Jaclyn. It was so great to see her! We were college roommies and I miss her :( The iron man was going on that weekend in St. George. We stayed at a hotel with free breakfast and we'll just say that I felt really fat and out of shape walking by all those healthy people. The nice thing was there was plenty of pastries left for me :)

We had to do some shopping in St. George the next morning (note the "had"). St. George has the biggest TJ Maxx and More and I had to show my mom. It was a BLAST!!! We did need to get some things for the wedding from Costco so we went there too. Norman and my dad did some mother's day shopping while we were at TJ Maxx and met us at Costco. Later we went to Wal-Mart in Mesquite and Norman pointed out that this was his 5th store for the day. I had to take a picture to document such a feat of strength.

You see...he HATES to shop. In general there is a strict one store per day limit. It took me a while to get used to his shopping style, but oh wait...I didn't get used to it...I just leave him home when I go shopping LOL!!!!

We went to dinner at the hotel. It was fun!! Norman got the pasta and I asked him how it was. He said "It's ok...nothing I'd blog about." I told him I'd blog for him :) Here he is with his un-blogworthy pasta that I'm blogging about.

After that picture I had to take others too. My parents got the fish and chips (that wasn't good...too much breading...not hardly any fish).

Oh yah, and because I'm blogging what everyone got...I got the fried chicken. It wasn't KFC, but it was pretty good. We found that they had the best turkey there the next day though...yummy!! I didn't get pictures of that though...failure on my part....

Trish and Wendy came over the first night to party. Norman had already gone to bed and I turn around to see Trish running across the room and jump in bed on Norman. He squealed and I laughed! I told him I'm going to have to watch him because the minute I turn my back he has a lesbian in bed with him and that this is not Vegas...it's Mesquite...he just laughed. Here's a picture of the party...

Oh yah! That's right people...we are party animals!!!!

The next day we hit the pool. It was so nice to play in the nice weather!!! We played on the water slide which was pretty fun actually!! My mom took pictures of us as we slid down.

LOL!!! Actually she kept missing us going down. There are several pictures like this which I think is hilarious!!!

We did however go down for a wedding so I should probably post pictures of that too. Heidi's dad is the director of a golf course and so Jeff and Heidi were able to be married there. It was a beautiful setting and wedding. I had been worried that Megan wouldn't want to cooperate, and she didn't disappoint. Luckily there was a side cut out thing I could stand in where no one could see me because as Jeff and Heidi were getting married I was nursing Megan...yup! I told Jeff that Megan had heard that weddings had excellent food, and he said he figures she thought it was an open bar...LOL!

So close to being hitched...

Yay! They're married! Kiss her!!
Megan didn't feel very well, but she was so cute in her yellow dress.
