Megan cracks me up!!! Her first words have been Dad, Mom, Thank you and now shoes!!! LOL!!! She LOVES shoes!!!
Tonight after work I got home and she pointed at my feet and was saying "Soossssssss" and I had to give her my sandals. She's been playing with my shoes the past few days and she's started playing with any shoes she can. She puts one on her foot and then holds her foot up and admires it. She isn't walking so heaven forbid we should walk with them, but shoes are meant to be looked at anyways I guess :)
When she's with Aunt Katie she has been playing with the kids' shoes. She loves their dress up shoes and just pulls them clear on and up her calf. We decided to get her some baby croc shoes because then she can put them on by herself. We went to Target tonight and sat her in the shoe aisle and you would have thought she died and went to heaven!!! She would point to the shoes and we had to put them on her so she could hold her foot up and say "Sooosssss"....we were cracking up!!! When we gave her the crocs she was soooo happy because she finally had a pair that she could put on by herself. We let her have them on the drive home and she kept putting them on her feet and cooing and saying "Soooosssssss".
Today was also a historic day because Megan graduated from one pony tail on the top of her head to two pigtails! What a big girl!!!
Megan has also started to love sunglasses. She wears the Mr. Potato Head glasses and her cousin's glasses whenever she can. I remembered that Powell's had given me a pair of baby sunglasses for her when she was born and pulled them out. Oh my! She was in heaven!!!
The funny thing was she loved to climb the stairs with them. Still, when I put them on her she thinks it's time to play on the stairs. Such a silly girl!!

Zoo Fun!!
Yesterday my mom's class went to Hogle Zoo for a field trip. I took the day off and Megan and I went with them. I wasn't sure if Megan was old enough to really get into it. When we first got there she was just upset to be in the stroller. We went to the pavilion to help with the lunch and on the way back we passed the rhino's. Megan perked up and started pointing at them and babbling. Here she is with Grandma and two students checking out the rhino.
They had little statues that of course we had to get a picture on. This was tricky because kids kept running over and wanting to play on them.
This was the wild cat exhibit and she LOVED it!!! It was actually cool because the cat came right up to the window and just sat there. Megan was pointing and talking to it.
10 years ago Jami and I went with my mom and her class to the zoo and my mom said to us "Go stand by that Zebra and I'll take you're picture". We both looked at each other like "huh?". My mom said "go on" and we realized she was talking about the giraffe. We laughed and laughed and laughed. This is my favorite picture of Jami and I.
This trip we of course had to get pictures with the "Zebra".
Megan loves the zebra's!!!!!
Megan also loves the carousel! I of course had to buy her a ticket and take her for a ride :)
This was the Elephant exhibit, but she loved the baby geese that were wandering in front.
Fun on the train!!!
Thanks Grandma! We had a great day!!!

Happy First Birthday
So I'm slow in posting the pictures from her first birthday, but better late than never right?!?! :)
On March 21st Megan turned 1. I can't believe it's been a year since my precious little girl was born. We ended up having more people over than we thought we would and it was a fun night! I'm not big into throwing big parties so it was great that everyone came and celebrated with us! Megan was in a really good mood too which made it even more fun.
We had a "smash cake" for Megan and then a regular cake for everyone else. I should have known how this would go based on the interest she showed in the cakes right away.
I thought she'd pick at her personal cake, but boy was I wrong! She touched the cake and tasted the frosting and then she said "mmmmMMmmmMMm" and that was the end! She was double fisting the cake into her mouth as fast as she could shovel. It was hilarious!!!
I love how serious she looks as she's shoveling it in. She got right into it I tell ya...
Then it was time for presents. I knew she liked to look in bags, but boy oh boy did she LOVE looking in gift bags! She was so excited to look in each bag and pull out all of her fun new toys!
Thanks everyone for coming! It was a great day!!!
