So sometime in Jami's childhood (I believe it was from Sesame Street episode where one of the puppets is trying to pronounce Abcde as a word) she decided that it would be so cool to have a child and name her Abcde (pronounced Ab-said-ee). Don't ask me why she thought it was funny to tease about, but we always did. So most people already know, but for those of you who don't know, Norman and I are pregnant. Yah...it's fast...a LOT faster than I thought it would be. I was positive we were going to have problems and have to go on fertility treatment and blah blah blah. Oh no, not us, so we're actually due March 18th. I would love to say that pregnancy has been blissful, but alas, it has not. This little baby it's kicking it's mommy's butt!! Luckily the mood swings haven't really set in and for the most part I'm either happy or sleeping (I told Norman I'm happy when I'm sleeping too), but the nausea is wretched. The last doctor's visit she assured us that we are pregnant (still couldn't find a heartbeat though) and that we are actually out of the most dangerous part. I dunno about all of this, and we weren't going to announce so soon, but word spreads fast. One of the contractors at Norman's work overheard him talking to his boss about getting time off to come with me to the doctor and took it upon himself to announce it to the shop. There was some grumpiness because people wanted to know why Norman didn't tell them before the contractor. It was a conversation that wasn't supposed to be repeated to everyone and we still are early on and we can't help that someone blabbed. Norman did start telling people after that because either he did or the contractor would (even though he was asked not to after that again he continued to tell). Yah, it just spread like wildfire from there. Sorry if you didn't hear it directly from us, but we actually weren't really confident in things when word got out. Still not totally confident, but it is what it is and everyone seems to know.
Anyways so back to my stories. We are cruel people so we were coming up with all sorts of "great" names. Fray for example. Then our child could be Fray Grant...doesn't that just smell so sweet?!?! Sadly, I had always liked the name Emma, but then she'd be Emma Grant and with everything going on in Arizona she'd have to have her papers with her everywhere she went. When I was talking to Trish she reminded me of Abcde and that technically it was still available. I then realized that we could do Abcde Fray Grant and her initials would be Abcde F. G. It's like it's destiny!!! NOT!!!

its a big hardback, a little expensive but totally worth it!
My siblings have yet to use the great names I have come up with. If you want them, you could probably get approval. My favorite is still Bert Nernie. But for the Grant family, you really need a Pell somewhere....
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the nausea, congrats on the baby!! Just keep reminding her/him that you will be bigger for a long time so she/he needs to be nice!
